Kaizer Chiefs Breaks 3-Game Losing Streak
Kaizer Chiefs’ three-matching losing streak has come to an end following a much-needed win over Royal AM at Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, 29 January.
After 60 minutes of play, Chiefs – who were smarting following three respective losses to Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC and Mamelodi Sundowns – finally opened up the scoreboard with a header from left-back Sifiso Hlanti.
Twenty-five minutes later, team-mate Ashley du Preez tapped in Amakhosi’s second goal of the evening. The club went on to win the match 2-0.
As a result of their win, Kaizer Chiefs occupy fifth place on the Premier Soccer League standings with 27 points – a whole 25 points shy of table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns. As for Royal AM, they’re sitting in 12th place with 21 points.
